Honda Racing’s David Johnson is looking forward to being reunited with his CBR machinery next week, as the Aussie sets his sights on the fonaCAB Ulster GP, with track action getting underway on Wednesday 7 August.
It’s been a solid season so far for ‘Davo’ with the Honda roads team, where at this year’s Isle of Man TT races he scored his first-ever TT podium in the Superstock race, placing the Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade SP2 third on the podium.
Johnson will take part in the Superbike and Superstock races aboard the Fireblade SP2, as well as the Supersport class with the CBR600RR. The Ulster GP holds good memories for Johnson, who last year finished third in the opening Superbike race.
Davo’s teammate Ian Hutchinson will not take part in the races as he recovers from recent surgery, where he had a plate removed from his leg.
