Honda Racing Assomotor’s Stephen Rubini led home the CRF250Rs in Mantova with seventh overall and a continued improvement in the smaller capacity class.
Race one saw Rubini lead the Honda charge, posting 12th on lap one, followed very closely by Honda 114 Motorsport’s Bailey Malkiewicz finding form on this rough and sandy track. The two CRF250R racers battled together for the whole moto, with Rubini coming home in eighth and Malkiewicz in 10th.
Race two saw Honda Racing Assomotor’s Alvin Östlund battling in fourth position until mid race. He finished the moto in a very credible seventh place, with 13th overall – his best single race result in 2020. Meanwhile Alvin’s teammate Stephen Rubini had a tough race, pushing through from fourteenth on lap one to ninth at the finish, giving him 7th overall and continued improvement in the MX2 class.
Honda 114 Motorsport’s Bailey Malkiewicz struggled to find his race one performance with a poor start and eventually finish the moto in 23rd place. Bailey’s teammate Nathan Crawford had a tough day with poor starts and will be hoping for improvement at the next Mantova race this Wednesday.
