Faenza hard pack suits flying Frenchman Rubini

GP of Italy

In the 250 class, Team Assomotor Honda rider Stephen Rubini put in his best scores of the season with seven-eleven results for seventh overall. The French rider felt at home on the hard pack surface and has really turned his season around in the past couple of events.

With the next round also taking place in Faenza on Wednesday, Rubini, and the rest of the Honda CRF250R riders don’t have much time to recover but as always, all of them will be making sure that they are fully focused for the next gate drop.

Riding the Honda CRF250R’s, Stephen Rubini put in his best results of the year, going 7-11 for seventh overall as he gets his season back on track. With two more rounds here, I’m excited to see how much he can progress during the week and whether he can break into the top five. Another rider who showed good progression was Bailey Malkiewicz, recording a 15th in race two, as he battled through the pack. It is always good to see riders making passes and he moved up from outside the top 20 and even made a pass on the last lap, which is something I’m always happy to see.
Overall, it was a solid day and I’m looking forward to see how the action unfolds this week when the MX2 class return on Wednesday and then again on Sunday.
