Alex Salvini (S2 Motorsport Sembenini Honda-RedMoto) took a dominant victory in the second round of the Italian Enduro Championship, with Honda riders on the podium across the classes.

Held in Arma di Taggia, the event organised by the Motoclub Sanremo, the course was 50km long and repeated four times with one Cross test on the beach and one Extreme and one Enduro test in the Ligurian Apennines, a few minutes from the sea.

Salvini was in dominant form in the 450 4T class with the Honda-RedMoto CRF 450RX Enduro. Victory came from winning 12 special tests (and second in just one), which was also enough to place him second in the overall results.

Davide Soreca (Honda RedMoto Lunigiana Team) joined Salvini on the podium in third place. IT was a solid performance for the young Italian, after recently undergoing surgery on his left meniscus and the ruptured right-hand radius.

Team mate Davide Guarneri also had a good event in the 250 4T class finishing on the podium in third and featuring in the top-five of all tests.

Also in the 250 4T class, Thomas Oldrati (Honda Racing RedMoto World Enduro Team) climbed onto the second step of the podium, claimed sixth overall and closed to just one point behind the leader in the championship standings.

Meanwhile team mate Christophe Charlier put in strong performances over the 13 special tests to claim an overall position of fifth and take third place in the foreign classification.

The next event for the Enduro teams will be the third round of the Italian Championship in Pontremoli (14 April).

What a day! I gave all my best and until the last I could win. Finally, I had the feeling I wanted, fast and consistent as I expect to be. Great teamwork! Congratulations also to the Moto Club for the excellent race!

After two ‘running-in’ races, we’re now getting to the heart of the season. Alex has more and more feeling with the bike. He does not give up and today he was amazing! He’s focused and determined and I’m sure we’ll soon get the results we deserved.

I hoped to do better, especially in the cross test, because there were all the conditions to get something better. The third position doesn’t fully satisfy me, but we go back aware we can improve.

I’m really happy, because I never expected a performance like this after the double injury. The bike was perfect and I got good times. Towards the end I gave up a bit because I was tired, but the third place is a great result.

Soreca was back after two injuries and he had an amazing race. Instead, we made a wrong front tyre choice with Guarneri and a few too many falls didn’t allow him to do better than third. We are satisfied but we did not give up: this is our third race and it is important to continue to gain experience.

Quite a good day. I have always been in the top-five of the overall and halfway I pushed to gain advantage. We are working well: the championship is still long and we have time to improve. I would like to thank the whole team for the excellent job.

During the first lap I fell both in the Cross and in the Enduro, losing precious seconds. In the following laps I recovered by recording good times. We keep on working in view of the next round of the Italian Championship.

Excellent day for both the riders, who finished in the top-ten of the overall classification. They gave their best and only a few mistakes prevented them from better results. We are still very satisfied: the championship is long and we are working hard.
