Two and a half months after the last round of the World Championship, Honda Racing RedMoto World Enduro Team was back in action at Santiago de Cacem, Portugal for the fifth round of the FIM EnduroGP World Championship.

It was a thrilling Grand Prix of Portugal with a lot of good news for the team managed by Matteo Boffelli.
After a few years of absence, Nathan Watson raced at this GP with the new Honda CRF 450 RX Enduro 2022, raising the level of a hard-fought E2 class. The English rider had incredible pace since the first special test, finishing second on both days and also getting a third position overall on Sunday.

Close to the top three was Thomas Oldrati, the rider of the Fiamme Oro group finishing fifth on the first day and fourth on the second, achieving two top ten results in the overall standings.

The Junior class saw the return of Roni Kytonen, who had been injured at the GP of Estonia in July.  After a stunning win on Saturday, he finished second on Sunday behind Lorenzo Macoritto, so taking a win and a third position in the Enduro Junior overall.

It was a tough race for Theo Espinasse, the Frenchman struggling with the after-effects of the injuries suffered at the Six Days in Italy, He managed to finish eighth on the first day, while on Sunday he was forced to withdraw after a crash.
