Preview Enduro Italian Championship
Round #01 | Passirano (BS)

This weekend the Honda Racing RedMoto World Enduro Team will start the 2021 season with the opening round of the Italian Championship, scheduled on Sunday in Passirano, near Brescia.

After the intense work done in the winter months and in recent weeks in Sicily, the team is ready to face this new challenge.

Thomas Oldrati will unfortunately be absent. Ready to make his debut in the 450 4T class with great ambitions after getting his 10th Italian title in 2020 by winning the 250 4T class, he has recently undergone surgery on his right hand. He is already following a specific rehabilitation program and aims to be at the start of the Assoluti d’Italia in the round in Sicily.

Honda Racing RedMoto World Enduro Team will be on track with the French rider Theo Espinasse and the young Finnish rider Roni Kytonen, who will race with the CRF 250RX Enduro in the class reserved to the foreigner.

The World Championship will kick off in June. Oldrati will move to the E2 class after being ruler of the E1 in 2020. Espinasse, the vice Junior World Champion and second in the Junior EJ2 in 2020,  will debut in the E1 class. Kytonen will still compete in the Junior class after winning the EJ1 in 2020 and finishing third in the Junior Overall.

Thomas Oldrati

"I've been training hard over the winter, but unfortunately in mid-February I injured my right thumb and won't be able to take part in the first race of the season. After two years in the 250 class, this year I'll be back in the 450 4-stroke class: I'm happy with this choice and I'm confident to reach new goals. The bike is different from the one I rode last year, but the feeling on the CRF 450RX has been excellent from the very first moment. I will fight to be a ruler!”.

Theo Espinasse

"I can't wait to start this new adventure with Honda Racing RedMoto World Enduro Team. In January I had the opportunity to try for the first time the CRF 250RX Enduro and I was impressed by the power of the bike. I immediately have a good feeling. I'll give my best to get great results: I'm very motivated and I'm well prepared for this new season".

"This is my second year with the team: 2020 was a very satisfying season, I had fun and I grew and gained experience. The goal is to do even better: in the tests carried out in January in Sicily and then on the various tracks in Finland and Italy we were able to try some new features. We are ready".

Team Manager

"First of all, I would like to thank all the sponsors and Honda and Red Moto staff, who once more follow our project with enthusiasm. We are a top team and we have all the right skills to get great results. We are very regretful for Oldrati: he won't be able to race in Passirano due to an injury, but I’m confident that he will be back soon. Kytonen is talented and will surely give us great satisfaction; Espinasse has proved to be fast and we expect many successes".
