Enduro Italian Championship
Round #03 | Piediluco (TR)
It was another good weekend for the Honda Racing RedMoto World Enduro Team, with Thomas Oldrati twice on the top step of the 450 4T class podium at the third round of the Enduro Italian Championship, which took place on 24th and 25th April in Piediluco, Umbria.
The race was on a route of about 40 km to be repeated four times a day, with three different special tests (one extreme, one enduro and one cross), for a total of 12 special tests per day.
It was an outstanding double win for Thomas Oldrati, ruler of the 450 4T class with two victories in both days of competition. On Saturday he also got second place overall, while on Sunday he finished in the top ten with a ninth place, due to several costly errors.
It was a positive weekend for Theo Espinasse with two excellent top ten finishes. With a fast pace the Frenchman finished fifth on Saturday, was close to the podium in the ranking reserved for the foreign riders and also got an eight place overall. On Sunday he unfortunately had to slow down due to a strong contusion to his left foot after hitting a fence post in the cross test but still managed to finish seventh.
Roni Kytonen finished eighth during both days of racing, showing a better feeling with the hard and dusty ground.
The next round of the Enduro Italian Championship will be on May 16th in Fabriano.
