Stephen Rubini showed up in Germany in a belligerent mood – tying on points with the current series leader, but without the coveted red plate.
Rubini sat in second spot of most of Saturday’s race one, but wore down Roan Van De Moosdijk, passing him with three laps remaining to take to win. In Race 2 it only took two laps for Rubini to pass his race one challenger, although Van De Moosdijk didn’t give up without a fight – pushing the Frenchman all the way to the finish. Rubini finished the race 0.523 second ahead of the pack and takes a 10-point advantage in the championship.
Buildbase Honda Racing’s Josh Gilbert had a very successful day going 6-11 respectively to finish in a well-earned 8th overall, equalling his 25-points score in France – today’s result lifting him up one place in the overall championship.
